Computer Science Colleges in Arkansas

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Arkansas State University and Harding University and several other schools in the state offer accredited computer science degrees. Approximately 40 students graduate with a computer science degree each year in state. Most of those students went to a school in Little Rock or the surrounding area.

Arkansas doesn’t have a reputation as being home to a bunch of technology companies but there are still many successful businesses that need software engineers, web developers, testers and designers.

Acxiom Corp provides information and data services to a wide range of companies and actively employs a large number of software professionals. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is the largest retailer in the world and is headquartered in Bentonville, AR. Tyson Foods Inc. is the biggest name in the chicken, beef and pork business and is based in Springdale. The presence of these and other large corporations in the state provide for many opportunities for computer science grads.
