BZDEV: KAI C++ Version 3.3a is Released (fwd)

Here's some good news: KAI C++ 3.3a is now out, and their linux version
doesn't require a fixed IP address.

Also, I've met some of the HP and SGI C++ compiler folks this week, and
there is good news to report for both of their compilers. HP's version
of C++ is quite close to compiling Blitz++ (their development version,
anyway). Actually someone in their group has been porting Blitz++, and
finding bugs in both Blitz++ and their front end. SGI has been close
for some time-- I was able to compile blitz in the fall of '97 with
their compiler, so maybe the next version will do it.

Both the HP and SGI folks are interested in using blitz for
benchmarking. If we find performance problems (very likely), we can
pass along the benchmarks and they will see what they can do.

Cheers,
Todd

Subject: KAI C++ Version 3.3a is Released

KAI is pleased to announce the release of Version 3.3a of KAI C++
on Digital Unix, HP-UX, Intel Linux, SGI Irix, and SPARC Solaris 2.

This version of KAI C++ is extremely close to Final Draft International
Standard C++. This version also contains enhanced support for
shared object libraries and improvements in linking speed.

If you have a current support service agreement for KAI C++.
you may download and use this version of KAI C++ for free.

The Linux port now uses a licensing scheme that does not rely on a fixed
IP address. You must request a new license codekey to use version 3.3.
