hi Tod
first of all: Blitz is great!!
I am a student at the swiss federal institute of technology at zuerich
(switzerland) and I would just like to inform you about the following:
I tried to install Blitz at home, where I have a Intel Pentium II
processor and I am running SuSe Linux. When I run ./configure
--with-cxx=egcs installation stopped with something like "unknown host
type, you must specify one". so I tried ./configure --with-cxx=egcs
hosttype=i386
now, the 'strange thing' happened: the configure script prompted "wrong
hosttype" - but it finished nevertheless. Afterwards, make lib completed
as well and the library was installed, and almost all tests passed (make
check). I can now perfectly use the library.
I dont know, maybe this is a 'feature' ;-) of european Intel processors
or something else - just wanted to inform you about it.
greetings from switzerland, Fabian
