Maybe this is out of scope but next to partial specialisation and
performance overall, support for Makefile's would be a big help.
IBM/VisualAge also supports Makefile's again.
The quality of a library increases with the number of consumers and
developers which increase with the number of supported platforms.
A way to deal with lib's in a platform-independent way would be a big
help.
