California has an enviable position in computing. It is known around the world as being home to some of the best computer science colleges that exist.
Stanford leads the entire field of computer science. Students that graduate from its programs are sought after by every technology company out there. This is assuming that they haven’t founded their own tech start up already. Many of the biggest tech companies today were founded by Stanford grads.
Just down the street you’ll find the University of California – Berkeley. Amazingly, it’s a public university. The computer science program there ranks in the top 10 consistently and is often in the top 5 in the country.
The California Institute of Technology is another excellent school for software and engineering. It’s a private school that specializes in science and technology and it ranks in the top 10 periodically.
