Hi,
I am supervising a diploma that studies
the role of CASE tools (here shareware tool
WithClass), because I believe it is more
important to learn about OO analysis and
OO design before I start OO programming.
This is at least the lesson learned from
non-numerical software.
As mathematical software is guided by a
procedural point of view this approach needs first
of all a mathematical problem that fits well
in a OO world. In the diploma we start off with
reverse engineering of Karlsruhe's C-XSC package
and C-XSC toolbox but we hope to apply the
'constructive' OO analysis and design to Kaucher's
functiods.
Does anyone have done similar studies with a set of
appropriate scientific problems?
Best regards
Heiner
