You may be interested in learning that ACM's Transactions on Mathematical
Software (TOMS) has started publishing papers related to Object-Oriented
Numerics. The March 1997 issue (Vol.23, No.1) contains three articles of
interest:

"Algorithm 764: Cubpack++: A C++ Package for Automatic Two-Dimensional
Cubature", by Ronald Cools, Dirk Laurie, and Luc Pluym, pp. 1-15.

"Fortran 90: An Entry to Object-Oriented Programming for the Solution of
Partial Differential Equations", by L. Machiels and M. O. Deville,
pp. 32-49.

"Object-Oriented Design of Preconditioned Iterative Methods in Diffpack",
by Are Magnus Bruaset and Hans Petter Langtangen, pp. 50-80.

Note that the first article is, to my knowledge, the first TOMS Algorithm
in C++. All these papers include web references where software and/or
additional information can be obtained.
