Yes, seeing "expression templates" on the MTL todo list makes me a
little nervous -- rapid compilation is part of MTL's attraction for
us. It would be great to see a "Blitz-lite" or "extended-MTL" (fast,
multi-dimensional, reference counted arrays with Fortran and C storage
order, iterators, etc., but without expression templates) submitted to
someplace like boost.org.
