I hope my question is not off topic: however, I think it might be of
interest to the subscribers of this list.

I would like to put up a comprehensive list of mailing lists and newsgroups
of interest for financial quantitative analysts.
If such a survey is available somewhere, please point me there.

My list should include (not be limited to: if you can suggest other related
area please let me know) anything where you can discuss:
1) research papers (focused on quantitative issues, not macroeconomics etc.)
2) modelling approaches (mono/multi factor models, trees, exotic options, etc.)
3) math issues (linear algebra, multidimensional solver, etc)
4) programming languages (C++/Java/etc.)
5) software products (applications, libraries, etc.)
6) info providers (news, historical and real time data, etc.)

Some examples of lists that fit the description are finance-and-physics,
oon lists from oonumerics.org, python-finance etc.
For the time being I'm focused on discussion groups, not web site (this
might be a future step).

I plan to summarize the results on a web page whose address I will post here.

If you can help I will appreciate: please email me (off list) whatever
reference you have: web page (only if they are discussion list related),
FAQ file, email address, newsgroup name, even better if you can include a
short description.

thank you in advance

Ferdinando Ametrano
