Sorry for the confusion, but the article by Koenig and Moo that I
pointed to in my last mail was in the March/April 2000
issue of the Journal of OO Programming (JOOP),
not in the C/C++ Users Journal.

Title: How Not to Measure Execution Time
(Part 5 of the series ,,Performance: Myths, Measurements, and Morals``)

Íts last paragraph reads:
,,Despite our best efforts, then, we must go back to the beginning and try
again. We shall describe our continuing efforts in our next article. ``
Alas, I have not seen that continuation yet. Although the method
described in the article seems not fully reliable, the experience
conveyed in the article is valuable, so it is still worth reading.
